Women, Shoes and Chocolates

Eric has had many relationships in his 28 years of survival with the opposite gender. In fact, he has dated two girls at one time in the recent past, however, the story is different now. He is in a serious relationship for the first time in his life. Debra, that’s her name. Eric says that he has finally met Debra “the one” after dating 17 girls. He says 18 is the magic number for him. However, that’s not the plot that this section is going to cover (yup..he was a playboy… WAS!!!)  It’s Eric’s interest in his lover that grabs almost all guys who are in a relationship or newly stepped on the love track or even guys looking out for potential partners.

Lately, Eric has been trying hard to understand the opposite gender so as please his partner and also because certain things about his girlfriend create curiosity in him (obviously his first attempt to understand women.)  He’s read various articles, books, notes and even heard opinions from friends. In the process, he even remembers his ‘non-guilty’ thought process while “scanning” other girls in the past. Jack is such a friend who is chilled out and easy going. He feels that there is no harm in looking at girls who have dressed themselves well. His outreach to such scenarios was “very genuine!” Girls dressed with hot shorts and tight jeans were aware that they are wearing those types of clothes and hence, he says, there is no harm in looking at them, in appreciating the beauty. “That does not mean that I wanna sleep with her, I’m not a pervert nor a sicko. I just enjoy God’s creation!”   

Eric came across various personalities under different circumstances however he felt that the key to a women’s brain is to understand why they love chocolates and shoes so much (he observed a lady hogging down a chocolate bar on the Subway and realized how emotional she got while she was eating it, yet she was looking at her new heels.) He sure understood that this was not true with all females; however, he wanted to put a common ground to his thesis of ‘understanding women.’ He felt that this is true as women of all ages display emotions for shoes and chocolates. Wonder how true that is!!

Eric went to every shoe store and chocolate sale point in town just to capture the reaction of women there, how they get excited eating the chocolate or just to see how they spend time looking at shoes or buy them as well. Some of them will give the longest “ummmmmmmmm…” while munching on those chocolates or just go “OMG!!!” on looking at heels or boots, of course when they actually bought them; their facial gesture emitted that “I’m the happiest girl alive” look! The way these women responded was remarkable. However, what Eric encountered and captured was the conversation between these two ladies in their lovely dresses. It was interesting that he noticed the two women laughing after reading an Instagram quote which read “only women can understand women, that’s why they hate each other!!” Eric was like “what!!”  Now Eric was very confused and thought to himself, “What the hell is going on!! Is this true or just sarcasm!!” Eric went home that night and thought hard. It was almost 4 am when he finally came to a conclusion, “I will never understand women, I just have to try hard to please my woman!!” Agree…? Disagree..? True..? Not true…? Or are you going to say.. “it depends” or conclude with a simple “I don’t know!”
