GYM 2014: Global Youth visit Loktak Lake, Kangla in Manipur

As a part of the ongoing Global Youth Meets India 2014, young delegates on 23rd February visited the Loktak Lake-the only floating lake in the world, the famous heritage Kangla Fort and Leikoipat, a soothing lake.

Delegates were informed about the rich cultural heritage and history of the Kangla Fort and the  significance of Loktak Lake in people’s lives in Manipur. They relished their lunch at the scenic and soothing Leikoipat.

They enjoyed the sightseeing and were amazed to witness such a beauty. “Wow! It’s so amazing to see this natural beauty. Manipur is a lovely place. I would love to come back here soon,” exclaimed Stephanie when asked if she was liking the Loktak Lake view and others.

The Global Youth Meets 2014, brings together young delegates from all over the world to exchange views, share experiences on different issues like VBD, disaster, environment, health, reflect together and, above all, detect common preoccupations and to develop realistic action plans to rebuild communities that meet the needs and aspirations of young people. The event allows young people to voice their ideas and concerns and make suggestions directly.

Some of the renowned partners of "Global Youth Meets 2014" are Government of India, Government of Manipur, The Classic Hotel, among others. Its media partners are Youth Street News, the Impact TV and Eccentric India.
