In an attempt to call back Northeast people to his state, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister R Ashoka will visit Assam on Saturday. Ashoka will meet Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi to discuss the issue and appeal the people to return to their workplace.
The Karnataka Deputy CM is said to visit Manipur as well to convince its people to come back to Bangalore. Large number of Manipuri lives in Bangalore for studies and jobs. Due to the exodus, various companies and colleges in Karnataka have been crippled.
It is to be noted that more than 15,000 northeast people fled from Bangalore, Karnataka. They were threatened for their lives on communal line on the backdrop of Bodo-illegal immigrant Muslims crisis in Assam.
