Manfete 2014 kickstarts today

The three-day extravaganza Manfete 2014 has been kickstarted today at the jam-packed Centenary Hall, Manipur University. The annual event by Manipur Institute of Management Studies is being organised by its students with the support of its faculty under the theme ‘Education 360 degree’.

Manfete showcases both scholastic and co-scholastic events and competitions like Quiz, Business Idea, Extempore Speech, Fashion Parade, Manhunt, Dance, Music, Games and several others. Today’s event included MIMS Business Idea, Ex-tempore, Eshei-Shakshi, Dance (Individual), Dance (Group), Dance (Freestyle), Photography and Treasure Hunt.

"Manfete surely will help in promoting young talents in Manipur not only in academics but in co-scholastic as well. That is why its theme is christened as 'Education 360 degree," quipped Rohit Sagolshem, event coordinator of Manfete 2014.

Result of the Eshei-Shakshi competition is followed:

The team of Gurumayum Kavita Devi and M. Boby Singh of DM college of Arts won first position while H. Dayananda and Gurumayum Shivchandra of Manipur College team and the team comprising Kh. Roshan of Sacred School and Ningthoujam Rekha Devi of MU Physical Education Department won second and third place respectively in the Eshei-Shakshi contest held as part of the Manfete-2014 at the MU Centenary hall premises here. The Eshei Shakshi contest participated by four teams was conducted by Hamom Sadananda, renowned Manipuri singer cum actor.

Freestyle Dance Competition result:
Pumpkin crews group won first prize while Ardac crews and Virus crews won second and third place respectively.

Group Dance Competition result:
Ronath Thiyam and his party won first place. Jackson and his party won second while Malemnganba and his party won third place.

Individual Dance Competition result:

Khumbarongai Gaijenliu of Little Flower School won first position while Christinia Thounaojam of Heritage Convent and Ronath Thiyam of Baby Dance Academy won second and third positions respectively.
