The new Insomnium release
The new Insomnium record has been taken over by Fanscination Street Studios to be mixed for it's release! This is awesomeness as we have already heard one track from the record back in October and it was mind-blowing. The band have told Metalinjection that the new record has a serious "black and death metal vibe to it," which can only mean good things from them.

As the Palaces Burn Remastered
It's awesome how I got a hold of this album, my girlfriend gifted it to me, on our anniversary, from a place where this album is not even released!! Yea..I know, I am the lucky b*****d!!! Anyway, if you have been listening to Lamb of God for a while, you will know why I decided to write about this new album.
Lamb of God had released As the Palaces burn with Prosthetic Records in 2003. To be honest I knew nothing about the band back then. But I got to know about the band after attending one of their concerts in Bangalore, 2008. Thanks to Ashwin Bhat , Anoop Krishnan P and Izzy Naw, I was in love with the band and the fact will always remain that the first song I ever listened to, was "Ruin", from that album.
Now that there's a remaster on the album released 2 days back, I was thinking 'what's new to listen here?' Frankly, I was skeptical when the project was announced. However, when I got the album, I decided to edge my audio senses with it. And guess what??!! Its amazing!!

Detonation: It was that time of the year when all rednecks and headbangers scream their guts out in a rampage..Summerstorm!! Just to keep your heads from loitering about, Summerstorm Festival is a music festival which takes place every year in Bangalore, India at the Palace Grounds. The inaugural edition of the Festival was held on 15th May, 2010. Some of the muzzles responsible for the damage were:
• Lamb Of God(American)
• Bhoomi(Indian)
• Scribe(Indian)
• Boomarang(Indian)
• Extinct Reflections(Indian)

It was a lazy Sunday afternoon when I woke up from yesterday, with a very bad hangover!! It was though I had a bullet cracked by brain open and my mind was trying to gather the pieces on its own! But out of all bricks, came the clock! It was time! Grabbing attires that I could, I made my way to the car..cold water down my throat, I drove. Black t-shirts scattered in the city, the eyes resisting the Sunlight. It seemed long but i got there somehow.. gates opened..it was 4pm.
Theorized came on stage, new songs crashing through the crowd, frontman Madhav tackling us! The band had become mature but I was expecting them to put up "Blackout" on their head nod supper! Eccentric Pendulum came in next, threw "Sepia Drown" on us..we went nuts! But I notice one soldier( guitarist) missing! Empty spaces on the riffs!! I wanted more.. Maldivian metal band, Nothnegal stepped in, Suidakra lead the crowd to dance with their folk influenced Bagpier touch ( I was surprised of this happening in a metal gig XD)
Friends saluting a horns up, I eagerly waited for the gem of the evening. 8pm, Opeth took over the crowd, everyone sloshed to "The Devil's Orchard"..it was the explosion! "I feel the dark" did not pause us but let Palace Grounds tremor! Mikael started talking..introduced the next track as one from the 'Still life' album, the first record to feature bassist Martin Mendez, "Face of Melinda", the crowd stood still, dazed at satanic Akerfeldt's vocal.
Then Mikael spoke of Mendez being "too chicken-shit to have only a moustache" referring to the cool Indian moustaches and how he has a beard to cover his double chin!! He introduced the next song as being a tribute to Ronnie James Dio, and that led into “Slither”- a track that he said was very typically influenced by hard rock and heavy metal. We headbanged our way into the madness of Opeth music with “Credence” from ‘My Arms, Your Hearse’, followed by “To rid the disease” from ‘Damnation’. All through the show, Mikael was getting the crowd to “Fuck you Mikael”, and he finally gave us a little reason to actually do so- He messed up the order of the songs! After saying how contrary to what people think, they still love death metal, and partly ruining the suspense about them playing some of the heavier stuff, he revealed that he had mixed things up a bit. So it was back to ‘Heritage’ with “Folklore”. But after that, they progressed into the heavier side of the set with “Heir Apparent”. Next, it was time for some ‘Ghost Reveries’ with “The baying of the hounds”.
Then Akerfeldt spoke of ‘Blackwater Park’ and introduced the song that was coming up as a hit single of sorts from the same record. They started off “The Drapery Falls” which had the audience in frenzy. Ten minutes later, they said their ‘Thank you’s’ and went off-stage, only to come back for the final track, the encore. Have you been to their gig at IIT Madras?The started the same way, with the strumming that eventually led into “Deliverance”. Midway through this, they lost their timing a little bit, but jumped back on track and made it a mind-blowing end to a fantastic show.
Overall, I’d say that Summer Storm 2012 was very well organized, and it was nice to see how everything was on time and running smoothly. The only minor detail that had been missed out on was trash cans, the lack of which resulted in the venue becoming quite filthy by the end of the day, Yuck!!

One of the Pioneers of "Groove metal", Darrell Lance Abbott, born on August 20, 1968, was the founding member of the heavy metal band 'Pantera' and 'Damageplan'. He took up guitar when he was 12 and moved on to be one of the best guitarist of all times. On given a choice between a BMX bike and a guitar on his birthday, Darrell chose the bicycle!! Not until he listened to Black Sabbath and ran back to his dad to throw the BMX away and get the guitar back!! Ever since, he was in love with his guitar. He loved 'Kiss' as a band and his favourite guitarist was Kiss' 'Ace'. As much talented as he was, he won most of the local talent shows when he was a kid. He and his drummer brother Vinnie Paul formed Pantera.
His "drink beer and play guitar" attitude constantly reminds us of his life as a musician. His quotes "Heavy metal is what I'm into. Shit that moves you. Shit that has heart and soul" keeps still when listening to his songs. He had the most amazing 'Dime' designed guitars launched by different biggest guitar manufacturers, such as Dean and Washburn. After the formation of Pantera, one of the people to keep heavy metal alive was Dime during the 'pop' era 90's. He moved on into world recognition after 10 years of Pantera being in existence. His high pitch harmonic squeals and groove riffs remain a signature to the world of metal music till date.
Due to vocalist Phil Anselmo's rampant drug abuse, there was problems in the band. Dismembered by early 2000s, Dime formed another band with his brother Vinnie, called 'Damageplan'. He was out to conquer the heavy metal world with the weapon in hand. Unfortunately, as Damageplan became known, on December 8, 2004, during a post album release tour, a lunatic named Natan Gale stormed the stage and shot Dime on his face 4 times, killing him instantly!
It is not precisely not known why Natan killed Dime but sources say that Natan was very upset of Pantera being demise.

While many night club enthusiasts felt in love with Rihanna's "We found love" , it might actually portray a different sense when related to her personal life!!!
Two love birds, Natasha and Joe (names changed), proudly claims that "the soul reason we are so much in love with each other or we know of the love is because the song let out a realization in us that night".
Released as a lead single for Rihanna's sixth studio album, Talk That Talk(2011) on September 22, 2011, in the United Kingdom, the song features producer/singer Calvin Harris. The song's lyrics speaks of couple who finds love in a hopeless place.
The music video depicts a drug abusing thrill seeker who is in a relationship that quickly spirals down into violence and addiction. Critics gave a mixed response to it as they noted that it profoundly alludes to ex-boyfriend Chris Brown's assault on Rihanna two years ago. Political commentators also questioned the video of its suggestive sexual nature.
All said and done, people still relate to the song as a love finder and they hope they will be able to relate there lives (for those who are still in search of love) to "We found love in a hopeless place" (not to forget the ones who have already found it) as echoed on all parts of the song.

If you have just fallen prey to the most amazing feeling known to us as 'love' and your mind and heart just can't stop thinking about the person you have just started loving, this song from 'Ishaqzaade' will surely soothe you if not for an hour but for a moment of course. Because it's too situational!
Sung by Shamali Kholgade, Main Pareshaan is q beautiful blend of high pitch and sounds of guitar and harmonium. The liberating thought of declaration of her state of mind is just amazing.
The newly victimised lovers are in love with this love song which has instantly become a chartbuster. The satisfaction of that declaration when the singer sings 'Main pareshaan, pareshaan, pareshaan...' is too expressive and vocal at the same time soothing.

The youthful peppy number 'Tumhi ho bandhu' from the movie 'Cocktail' has instantly hit the right chord with youth. One can see a college girl traveling in a metro to a hunk on a bike murmuring the song on the way to college. Same with those partying late night with close buddies in a club.
Music directed by Pritam and sung by Kavita Seth and Neeraj Shridhar, 'Tumhi ho Bandhu' has been topping the chart since its release.
The new avatar of this devotional number is truly melodious and flawless. Addition of electronic music makes it sound very energetic and peppy in its true sense.
The song really suits the characters of the cast starting in right from Deepika, Diana and of course Saif.

Singer, Composer and Musician Alo Wanth hailing from Nagaland will perform in Delhi on Saturday. It will be held at 6:45 pm in Shah Auditorium, Civil Lines, New Delhi. Organised by Hi-Pitch Productions, the concert is christened as “Alo Wanth on Stage”. This concert aims to tell people about how northeast people are peace loving. The concert is for upholding harmony and promoting unity amidst troubled diversity.
Kagui, a musician himself along with his friends (Maker Kashung, Elvis Khevito Lee and Nethaji Rajendran) founded Hi-Pitch Productions with a vision to provide platform for the new talents in Northeast.
Alo Wanth said, “As for me, I have always wanted to connect to different people in the country and other places through music and spread goodwill. In many of my songs I have talked about justice, peace and how we need to strive for a better world. This concert has brought me closer to my dream and I definitely look forward to connect with many people in Delhi.”

For anyone who enjoyed Periphery's first full length album, "Periphery", this album is a huge step up.
Pop, Hip-hop, soft rock and everything else. In metal, we have nu metal, metalcore, deathcore, and as you would call it "djent" or "progressive metal" if you prefer. Periphery, is one of these main "djent" bands. As we expect it from Periphery, the production is good.
Now if you are Mr. Fancy Pants, go lock yourself in the closet and don’t even think about coming out coz I’m gonna burn your view of the world.
When you talk about Periphery, you talk about sound, hard, concrete sound. This album delivers the eerie, atmospheric intro or builds up track to an album! It helps set a mood for the album and gives you an idea of how the rest of the album is going to follow on. The track in question on this album is "Muramasa", and is certainly one for my favourites! It is a song in itself of course, and not strictly an introduction, but the start of it certainly has that epic synthetic build up that adds tension and atmosphere. Brilliant song, that flows fantastically well throughout itself and into the next track!
The combination of metal and synthesisers/keyboards is amazing. There are tons of loops behind the instrumental sections that almost seem to mimic the guitars, especially behind any reverb as hell lead parts! Something I should certainly comment on is the mixing and overall production of this album! Which can be simply summed up with, "Wow". The guitars retain their heaviness yet are as clear as day when trying to work out the notes. The vocals are brilliantly performed and mixed with the other instruments, so that they're all at a nice equal sounding volume.
This album is full of variety. It begins with a quite epic intro track which, coming in at 2:55, is short and sweet ("Muramasa"). It takes inspiration from a variety of sources including classical music ("Have A Blast", "Froggin' Bullfish"), techno ("Have A Blast", "Ragnarok", "Epoch"), and even pop, especially in the vocals ("Ji", "Make Total Destroy", "Scarlet"). There is also/acoustic clean guitar parts on this LP as well ("Luck As A Constant", "Froggin' Bullfish"). It also helps that Periphery as a whole is a group of very talented musicians. There is a ballad type track near the end, similar to the band's previous song, "Jetpacks Was Yes" ("Erised"), next to an instrumental, ambient/techno track ("Epoch"), and the album ends on a strong note with an epic, 6 minute track ("Masamune").
Longtime fans need not worry either, Periphery are still metal. There are songs with heavy grooves ("Make Total Destroy", "Mile Zero", "Ji", "Face Palm Mute", "Ragnarok", "The Gods Must Be Crazy!"), songs with incredible death growls from vocalist Spencer Sotelo ("Luck As A Constant", "Ragnarok", "Have A Blast"), and songs with mind bending solos, from the lead guitarist (Misha Mansoor) and also guest guitarists such as Guthrie Govan ("Have A Blast"), John Petrucci ("Erised"), and Wes Hauch ("Mile Zero"). Overall, this album will not disappoint longtime fans of Periphery, and will offer a great music experience to newcomers thanks to this LP's incredible variety and style.

Overall, this album will not disappoint longtime fans of Periphery, and will offer a great music experience to newcomers thanks to this LP's incredible variety and style.
LoG vocalist released; readies for upcoming U.S. tour

Lamb of God vocalist Randy Blythe’s arrest and continuing legal situation has led the band to change plans on many occasions. The band has been unable to perform in Canada on a tour but is looking forward to doing an entire Canadian run in the near future.
After the band's successful reunion with singer Randy Blythe at
the two Knotfest shows in mid-August, Lamb of God announces a 38-date fall U.S.
tour starting October 30 in Phoenix, Arizona.
Lamb of God will be joined by metal outfits such as In Flames,
Hatebreed and Hellyeah as a direct support. Hatebreed will be joining the
package from October 30 until November 19 at which point Hellyeah will replace Hatebreed
for the remainder of the shows in the tour. Sylosis, the British band, will
open all dates.
The tour will be the first U.S. tour in support of the band’s
latest CD, "Resolution," which debuted at number 3 on U.S. Billboard
200 upon its release in January. It will be the last tour dates of 2012.
Tickets for the tour will go on sale next weekend by September 21.
