Ek Tha Tiger, Ek Hai Salman

by Mehnaz on Friday, 31 August 2012

I took out my BB and straightaway started clicking his pics on burst mode when he appeared first on the screen. Such a crazy fan I am of Salman Khan.  Though I know it’s impermissible to click pictures inside the theatre, but c’mon, who will resist the 7th most handsome man in the world? (At least, not me!).  Such a happy and bright soul I became when I watched ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ the other day. I have never been so interested in the ‘Save Tiger’ campaign, but for this Tiger, I can go all the way (Just kidding!)
Throwing myself to willing-suspension-of-disbelief, I enjoyed watching Tiger in action for hours delightfully.  So engrossed watching Salman punching, kicking, killing all his enemies, I literally forgot to watch other characters (How crazy I am, I know!). However, Girish Karnad as the RAW head captured my eyeballs for his acting prowess. His acting kinda reminded me of my theatre class in college (Phew! How boring those classes were-IPTA, Safdar Hashmi, Bengal famine and what not! Thank God, I somehow managed to pass in that subject.)
Coming back to my Tiger…errrr…the topic, I was also spellbound to see otherwise plastic Katrina Kaif flexing her muscles for the film. I have to admit that she has come a long way from straight-face Katrina in ‘Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya’ to I-can-also-act-Katrina in ‘Ek Tha Tiger’.  Although performed by her body-double, the action was eye-catching. However, as usual, our own Tiger urf Salman Khan overshadowed all the actors.
However, there are instances in the movie where you are forced to think if Salman is the Bollywood’s answer to Hollywood’s superheroes like Spiderman, Superman and  all the men.
With ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ becoming the fastest 100-crore grosser and with four other 100–crore movies in his kitty, the phenomenon called Salman will end no sooner. That’s why – ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ is a hit but Ek Hai Salman who is superhit!
